Tena ko toku Imi Moriori

Hi my name is Amanda King, I am 42 years old. I am an avid supporter of all things Moriori, as I have followed the changes and growths of our Imi over the past two and a half decades, from attending Waitangi tribunal hearings in Wellington to the completion and opening of Kopinga Marae, for the past two years I have been proud to be a Trustee for Moriori and look forward to the future.

I currently work as the Snr Office Administrator & Financial Accounts Clark for Ha O Te Ora O Wharekauri Trust, Maori Community Health.

As a mother of two beautiful timiriki aged six (Mikaere) ten (Ahinata) and the support of my tane Arana Tuuta my focus is to assist and maintain in the growth of Moriori Culture and provide a sustainable vision for our future generations.

Although living on Rekohu has its own sets of challenges, I am privileged to walk in the footsteps of our Karapuna, and will do my best to honour the kaupapa of Moriori.
