Deborah Ashton

My father is Joseph (John) Ashton, his father is Joey Matenga Ashton and my great grandmother is Kiti Karaka.

I was involved in the fishing industry for 10 years (both tuna and prawn fishing). I went on to manage 2 hotels for a further 6 years whilst living in Australia. I am currently a member of the Hokotehi Moriori Trust Board. My interests lie with every avenue pertaining to Moriori but of particular interest is hokopapa and the health and wellbeing of our people.

I am currently working with City Fitness in Paraparaumu as a Personal Trainer.
