My name is Julie Scrimgeour. I was born and bred on Chatham Island, the eldest daughter of Sunday and Te Autiti (Mary) Hough, nee Mataira, a grand daughter of Tamihana Heta.
As a Trustee, I offer my time and commitment to strengthening and extending Moriori endeavours on the journey forward.
My vision is that Hokotehi Moriori Trust will:
- Through judicious management of the Trust’s assets, continually strive for the sustainable growth and development of the economic, social and cultural interests of Moriori today and for the generations to come.
- Honour the Peace Covenant in all of the Trust’s activities.
- Work in collaboration with Chatham and Pitt Islands’ organizations to strengthen and enhance the economy.
- Provide for members, a balance of Trust activities on Rekohu and in the North and South Islands of New Zealand.
