Many of these photographs of Moriori ancestors are from the Barker and Basett Collections, Canterbury Museum and Alexander Turnbull Library. Some of the photos of groups of people were taken by Alfred Martin in the 1870s and those in portrait style by E.A Welch in the late 1860s.
