Moriori aged eighteen (18) years or over are entitled to be nominated as a Trustee.

Each nomination must be endorsed by 20 adult registered members of Hokotehi Moriori Trust, and must also include a statutory declaration and brief CV from the nominee. To be eligible for nomination, a candidate must be ordinarily resident in the nomination region for which they are seeking election.

Nominations must be made on an official nomination paper obtainable during normal business hours by contacting the Independent Returning Officer on
info@electionservices.co.nz or 0800 922 822 or the Hokotehi Moriori Trust website, www.moriori.co.nz.

Nominations of candidates must be received by the Independent Returning Officer no later than 5pm, Wednesday 10 September 2025.

If there are more nominees than vacancies for each region, an election will be held, and voting will open on Friday 10 October 2025, and close at 5pm, Friday 14 November 2025.

The results of the election will be announced via Hokotehi Moriori Trust’s digital channels on Saturday 15 November 2025.

Hokotehi Moriori Trust invites anyone who has not already registered, aged 18 years or over, and with the appropriate hokopapa to apply to be included on the Trust’s Members Register.

Applications for inclusion on the Register for these elections close at 5pm, Wednesday 24 September 2025.
