OUR PEOPLE

Hokopapa unit

The Hokopapa Unit is a group of volunteers with a passion, strong understanding, and knowledge of Moriori hokopapa and hūnau lines. Hokotehi Moriori Trust mandates them to compile a register of Moriori descendants.

The Unit consists of Mark Preece, Grace Le Gros, Britt-Amber Barris, Natasha Watty and Amanda King.

CULTURAL COMMITTEE

The Cultural Committee plays a vital role in advising and supporting the Hokotehi Moriori Trust board on all matters related to Moriori cultural preservation, revival, and development. This includes supporting initiatives for ta rē, traditional knowledge, arts, and other cultural practices, as well as ensuring cultural integrity in projects and events. The Committee also contributes to the development of cultural policies/strategies and supports documentation and revitalisation efforts.

Christine Harvey is the convener of the Committee. Other members include Erin King, Ryan Lanauze, Pana Ryan, Chas Taurima, Brenda Clarkson, Belinda Williamson, and Hana-Maraea Solomon.
