Notice is given that on 28 October 2022 an election will be held under the First Past the
Post electoral system by postal vote, for four (4) Trustees of the Hokotehi Moriori Trust:
• two (2) Trustees from Rēkohu (Chatham Islands); and
• one (1) Trustee from the South Island; and
• one (1) Trustee from the North Island.
NOMINATIONS
Each nomination must be endorsed by 20 adult registered members of Hokotehi
Moriori Trust, and must also include a statutory declaration and brief CV from
the nominee. To be eligible for nomination, a candidate must be ordinarily resident in
the nomination region for which they are seeking election.
Nominations must be made on an official nomination paper obtainable during
normal business hours by contacting the Independent Returning Officer on
info@electionservices.co.nz or 0800 922 822 or the Hokotehi Moriori Trust website,
www.moriori.co.nz.

Nominations of candidates must be received by the Independent Returning Officer no later than 5pm, Monday 29 August 2022.
If there are more nominees than vacancies, an election will be held, and voting will open
on Tuesday 27 September, and close at 5pm, Friday 28 October 2022.
The results of the election will be announced at the Hui-a -Moriori scheduled to be held
on Saturday 29 October 2022.
